Negotiated Risk Agreement
Have you ever experienced a resident who doesn’t want to use their walker or refuses to stick to a diet prescribed by their doctor? Of course you want to make the resident comfortable, allow him or her to retain independence and stay at your facility. However, you don’t want to take the risk of something adverse happening to the resident based on this behavior and your facility being held responsible. Negotiated Risk Agreements are being used by other assisted living facilities to address situations like these.
